The Protein C Antigen Test is a crucial diagnostic tool used to measure the level of protein C in the blood. Protein C is a vital protein that plays a significant role in controlling blood clot formation, working as an anticoagulant to prevent excessive clotting that could lead to dangerous health conditions like deep vein thrombosis, pulmonary embolism, or stroke. This test is particularly important for individuals with a history of blood clots or those with conditions that predispose them to clotting disorders. It helps in diagnosing protein C deficiency, which can be either acquired or hereditary, and in monitoring the effectiveness of treatment in patients with known protein C deficiency.

At DNA Labs UAE, the Protein C Antigen Test is offered at a cost of 2040 AED. DNA Labs UAE is a reputable facility known for its state-of-the-art equipment and highly qualified staff, ensuring accurate and reliable test results. The test is performed with a blood sample, and the process involves advanced laboratory techniques to quantitatively measure the protein C levels. Patients opting for this test at DNA Labs UAE can expect professional service and comprehensive support throughout the testing process, from sample collection to result interpretation, aiding in the effective management of conditions related to protein C deficiency.

Test Details:

The Protein C Antigen Test is a laboratory test that measures the level of Protein C in the blood. Protein C is a natural anticoagulant protein that helps regulate blood clotting. This test is usually ordered to evaluate the risk of blood clotting disorders, such as deep vein thrombosis (DVT) or pulmonary embolism (PE). It can also be used to monitor the effectiveness of anticoagulant therapy or to investigate the cause of recurrent blood clots.

The test involves drawing a blood sample and measuring the concentration of Protein C in the plasma. The results are usually reported as a percentage of normal levels. Low levels of Protein C can indicate an increased risk of blood clotting, while high levels may suggest a decreased risk.

The test is typically performed in conjunction with other clotting tests, such as the Protein S test or the Activated Protein C Resistance test, to provide a comprehensive evaluation of the clotting system.
