How is the sample collected for the newborn screening test?
A few drops of blood are taken from the baby's heel onto a special filter paper card, which is then sent refrigerated to the lab. The procedure is minimally invasive and performed by a trained pediatric phlebotomist, often included in our VIP home collection service. The filter paper (available from our lab) must have three fully filled circles of blood, properly dried, and shipped with clinical details and drug history. Samples must be kept at 2–8°C during transport.

When will I receive the newborn screening results?
Results are reported the next day if the sample is collected Monday through Friday by 9 AM, with same-day telephonic guidance available. Late or weekend collections are processed on the next working day.
