The Interleukin-6 (IL-6) Mini Panel test is a diagnostic test that measures the levels of IL-6 in the blood. IL-6 is a cytokine, a type of protein that plays a role in regulating the immune system and inflammation.

This test is used to evaluate the levels of IL-6 in the body, which can help in the diagnosis and monitoring of certain conditions, such as autoimmune diseases, infections, and certain types of cancer. Elevated levels of IL-6 may indicate an ongoing inflammatory response or disease activity.

The IL-6 Mini Panel test typically involves taking a blood sample from the patient, which is then sent to a laboratory for analysis. The results are usually reported as the concentration of IL-6 in the blood, measured in picograms per milliliter (pg/mL).

It is important to note that the IL-6 Mini Panel test is just one part of a comprehensive diagnostic evaluation, and the results should be interpreted in conjunction with other clinical findings and tests. The test should be ordered and interpreted by a healthcare professional, such as a physician or immunologist.
