The VON WILLEBRAND DISEASE (VWD) PANEL test is a diagnostic test that measures the levels of various proteins in the blood that are involved in blood clotting. VWD is a genetic disorder that affects the blood’s ability to clot properly, leading to excessive bleeding and bruising. The VWD panel test is used to confirm a diagnosis of VWD, determine the severity of the disease, and monitor treatment effectiveness. The panel typically includes tests for von Willebrand factor antigen, von Willebrand factor activity, and factor VIII activity. Results of the VWD panel test can help healthcare providers determine the best treatment options for patients with VWD.
