The Factor VII Functional Test is a specialized blood test designed to assess the activity and functionality of Factor VII, a crucial protein in the blood coagulation process. This test is essential for diagnosing and managing conditions related to blood clotting disorders, particularly those associated with Factor VII deficiency. By measuring the activity level of Factor VII, healthcare providers can determine the efficiency of the blood clotting process in patients, aiding in the diagnosis of bleeding disorders or potential risks for excessive bleeding during surgeries or after injuries.

At DNA Labs UAE, this test is offered for a cost of 680 AED. DNA Labs UAE is known for its state-of-the-art facilities and experienced staff, ensuring accurate and reliable test results. The test is conducted in a controlled laboratory environment, where a blood sample is collected from the patient and analyzed for Factor VII activity. The results from this test can provide critical information for the diagnosis, treatment planning, and management of patients with blood clotting disorders, contributing to better patient outcomes.

Factor VII Functional Test

At DNA Labs UAE, we offer the Factor VII Functional Test at a cost of AED 680.0. This test is used to evaluate the activity of Factor VII, a crucial protein in the blood clotting process.

Test Details

The Factor VII Functional Test measures the activity of Factor VII in the blood. It is usually performed to evaluate individuals with bleeding disorders or to monitor the effectiveness of blood-thinning medications. During the test, a blood sample is collected from the patient and sent to our laboratory.

In the lab, the blood sample is mixed with reagents that initiate the clotting process. The time it takes for the blood to clot is measured and compared to a reference range. A normal result indicates that Factor VII is functioning properly, while a prolonged clotting time suggests a deficiency or dysfunction of Factor VII.

It is important to note that the Factor VII Functional Test is just one component of a comprehensive coagulation profile. Additional tests, such as the Factor VII antigen assay and genetic testing, may be performed to further evaluate any abnormalities detected in the functional test.

Test Components

  • Price: AED 680.0
  • Sample Condition: 3 mL whole blood in 1 Blue Top (Sodium Citrate) tube. Mix thoroughly by inversion. Transport to Lab within 4 hours. If this is not possible, make PPP within 1 hour of collection as follows:
    1. Centrifuge sample at 3600 rpm for 15 min.
    2. Transfer supernatant to a clean plastic tube.
    3. Centrifuge this supernatant again at 3600 rpm for 15 mins.
    4. Transfer the supernatant (PPP) to 1 labelled, clean plastic screw capped vial.
    5. FREEZE IMMEDIATELY. Ship frozen. DO NOT THAW.
  • Report Delivery: Sample Thu by 9 am; Report Next day
  • Method: Photo-optical Clot Detection
  • Test Type: Disorders of Coagulation
  • Doctor: Hematologist
  • Test Department:
  • Pre Test Information: Overnight fasting is preferred. Duly filled Coagulation Requisition Form (Form 15) is mandatory. It is recommended that the patient discontinues Heparin for 1 day and Oral Anticoagulants for 7 days prior to sampling as these drugs may affect test results. Discontinuation should be with prior consent from the treating Physician.

Conclusion

The Factor VII Functional Test provides valuable information about the activity of Factor VII, a protein involved in the blood clotting process. It helps in the diagnosis and management of bleeding disorders. At DNA Labs UAE, we offer this test at a cost of AED 680.0. If you suspect a bleeding disorder or need to monitor the effectiveness of blood-thinning medications, consider getting a Factor VII Functional Test.

Factor VII is a protein that plays a crucial role in the blood clotting process. The functional test for Factor VII measures the activity of this protein in the blood.

The test is usually performed to evaluate the function of Factor VII in individuals with bleeding disorders or to monitor the effectiveness of treatment with blood-thinning medications.

During the test, a blood sample is collected from the patient and sent to the laboratory. In the lab, the sample is mixed with reagents that initiate the clotting process.

Other tests, such as Factor VII antigen assay and genetic testing, may be performed to further evaluate the cause of any abnormalities detected in the functional test.

Overall, the Factor VII functional test provides valuable information about the activity of this clotting protein and helps in the diagnosis and management of bleeding disorders.
