The Metanephrines Free Plasma Test is a specialized diagnostic procedure designed to measure the levels of metanephrines in the blood. Metanephrines are metabolites produced from the breakdown of catecholamines, such as adrenaline and noradrenaline, hormones that play crucial roles in the body’s stress response and regulation of blood pressure. This test is particularly important in the diagnosis and monitoring of pheochromocytomas and paragangliomas, which are rare tumors that can secrete excessive amounts of catecholamines, leading to potentially life-threatening symptoms.

Conducted at DNA Labs UAE, a leading facility known for its advanced diagnostic technologies and professional expertise, the Metanephrines Free Plasma Test ensures high accuracy and reliability. The test is priced at 1400 AED, reflecting the specialized nature of the analysis and the comprehensive insights it provides into the patient’s metabolic status and potential endocrine disorders. Patients undergoing this test at DNA Labs UAE can expect a seamless experience, with guidance and support provided by experienced healthcare professionals throughout the testing process.

Test Details

The Metanephrines Free Plasma test is a medical test that measures the levels of metanephrines in the blood. Metanephrines are breakdown products of certain hormones, such as epinephrine and norepinephrine, which are produced by the adrenal glands.

This test is used to diagnose and monitor conditions related to the adrenal glands, such as pheochromocytoma or paraganglioma. These are rare tumors that can cause excessive production of epinephrine and norepinephrine, leading to symptoms such as high blood pressure, rapid heartbeat, and anxiety.

During the test, a blood sample is taken from the patient, usually from a vein in the arm. The sample is then sent to a laboratory for analysis. The levels of metanephrines in the blood can help determine if there is an excess production of these hormones, indicating the presence of a tumor.

It is important to follow any preparation instructions given by the healthcare provider before the test, such as avoiding certain medications or foods that can interfere with the results. The test is generally safe, but there may be some risks associated with drawing blood, such as bleeding, infection, or bruising at the site of the needle insertion.

The results of the Metanephrines Free Plasma test can help guide further diagnostic and treatment decisions. It is important to discuss the results with a healthcare provider to fully understand their implications and any necessary next steps.
